Confluence Map Scores Continue to Rise

Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) scores are in…and Confluence students are again showing significant progress in communication arts and math. The graph shows our overall growth in proficiency since the first campus opened. This means that an increasing number of Confluence students are achieving proficiency in these subjects. From the spring of 2004 to the spring of 2007, the overall gain was 15.4 points. In mathematics, the MAP test was first given in 2005 and the gain since then has been 10.3 points.

This is the 4th straight year of consistent gains for Confluence students. Indeed, the rates of gains our students are making are outpacing the average gains of students in the State of Missouri. Notwithstanding these continued gains, we all aspire to raise these proficiency levels even higher to meet the adequate yearly progress requirements of the “No Child Left Behind” standard.

Some of the ways we will be working with students this year to boost achievement include: skills tool kits for students and parents, tutoring programs both during and after school and goal setting for each student. Our teachers will continue to teach critical skills during daily lessons and extended day and will be carefully monitoring each student’s progress
